Lots of Q's, New Titles and 2x High in Trial!

Flagstaff Kennel Club Scent Work Trial

We weren’t sure we were going to make it thanks to a 24-hour bug-a-boo, but we rallied — and I’m so glad we did!

Kiva (Ralphie x Tilley) was on fire with 8/8 Qs , High in Trial x 2 , three 1sts, three 2nds, two 3rds, and three new titles: SCN SBN SEN .
Star (Tanner x Stella) was phenomenal with 7/8 Qs , three 1sts, three 2nds, and the 3rd fastest Q in trial , finding her buried hide in 9 seconds flat ! She earned three new titles: SCN SEN SIN .
Ollie (Maverick x Stella) qualified in Advanced Exterior and Advanced Containers , with a 2nd placement.
Tilley (Spanky x Suki) earned her SEA with a 2nd place.

What a way to end the season!

Introducing BISS Phoebe!

Phoebe had an amazing day! Not only did she secure Best of Breed (BISS) at the Rio Salado Specialty show, but she also made the cut in the Sporting Group! We couldn’t be more excited for this 9-month-old pup!

A heartfelt thank you goes to Seth and Jeannie Warnke for believing in our vision and allowing us to use Walker as her sire; to Jackie Nicol for consistently showcasing Phoebe's full potential in the ring; and to Susan Shorb for transforming her into the confident and sassy little lady she is today.

Special mention to our Oliver, who won Reserve Best Junior Handler with Phoebe. He has truly been an essential part of our team, and we’re incredibly proud of the skill, passion, and dedication he brings to training and presenting our spirited girl.

This is going to be a thrilling journey for all of us!

Yeager was tied for 2nd place in the country for most AKC Scent Work titles earned in 2025 among Vizslas, as compiled by wesmellbetter.com. That is a major accomplishment and reflects serious dedication, training, and consistency in competition.

High In Class and three 1st Places!

Team Yeager was on the hunt this weekend at Barn Hunt Casa Grande’s April Fools trial! �� He earned his RATO title with three Q’s in Open—all 1st place in his height class, and the last run was High in Class! �� He also gave Crazy 8’s a try for the first time and racked up 160 points toward the title (only 500 to go!). So proud of this little hunter!

Big Weekend: Scent Work & FastCAT Success!

What an incredible weekend for Yeager! He had an action-packed few days filled with achievements, titles, and exciting runs.

At the Jumping Cholla Agility Club’s Scent Work Trial, Yeager had an impressive performance, qualifying in 6 out of 8 runs! He finished his Advanced Buried title, which officially completes his Scent Work Advanced (SWA) title—a huge milestone! Along the way, he earned 1st place in both Buried and Containers and took 4th place in Exterior.

As if that wasn’t enough, he headed over to Desert Fun Bunch for FastCAT, where Yeager is now just three runs away from earning his FCAT title! With two more successful runs under his belt, he’s closing in on the finish line.

News has been pouring in of our successes at recent Scent Work Trials!

Becky Clippinger in Colorado writes, “It was a good weekend for Team Manny! He qualified in 5 runs, and placed in all of those: 2 fourth place wins, 2 third place wins, and 1 first place win. He also finished his exterior advanced element title. It is so much fun to handle a dog that loves to work as much as Manny does. One of the judges today told me that I have an amazing dog. I couldn’t agree more.

From Cheryl Miller reports from the Tucson Trial: “In Tucson this weekend for a Sonoran Desert Scent Work Club trial. Started off rocky with me tripping in a hole on the trail and spraining my ankle. Saturday was perfect—4 elements and 4 Q’s with 1st place in handler discrimination (thanks Elissa Driver for the scent training item!) our first attempt! 4th in exterior, 4th in containers and 10th in buried (finally got it!) Sunday—4th in exterior, 6th in containers and 7th in buried. Only miss was handler discrimination. Thanks to Billie Rosen for sharing her incredible nose work knowledge. Susan Shorb and Janet Merrick Laman what a dream of a pup!

She was beautifully handled by Janice Hayes. Janice has been so wonderful with Star and ALL our spoiled tamales. She put a Bronze GCH on Suki, a GCH and CH on both Maverick and Goose and now a CH on Star. Thank you, Janice we are just so excited!
